Albert J. Olson, age 87 years, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Sauk County Health Care.
He was born on September 8, 1938 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the son of Melvin and Dorothy (Howland) Olson. Albert grew up in the Mauston and Wilton areas.
Albert served in the U.S. Army National Guard until his honorable discharge in November of 1956.
Albert was united in marriage to Geraldine Lawrence on July 31, 1965 in Valley, Wisconsin. They made their home at Hillsboro, Wonewoc and in 2003 moved to Reedsburg.
He worked at Badger Ordinance at Baraboo and St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital in Hillsboro from 1989 until his retirement.
He enjoyed country music and played the Hawaiian steel guitar. He also worked on bicycles and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine of Reedsburg; daughters, Paula (Jim) Lumsden of Oconomowoc and Diana (Duane) Crisman of Tomah; grandchildren, Shana, John (Bryana) and Charles; great grandchildren, Skyler and Paisley; brothers, Kenneth (Pansie), Fred (Sandra) and sisters, Darlene Benish, Dotty Bennett and Mary Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; brothers, Marvin and Robert and sisters, Ruthann Rurup and an infant sister, Arlene.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Wonewoc, with Rev. Steven Neyhart officiating. A time of visitation will be at the Picha Funeral Home on Friday, September 11th from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
