Arlene left this earth on Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 100 while at her home at Drumlin Reserve Senior Living Community, Cottage Grove, WI.
Born on January 20, 1926, in Hillsboro, WI to Alois and Cynthia (Eastman) Sosinsky. She attended local schools there. As a child and young woman, she worked very hard on the family farm driving hay wagons, tending gardens, feeding livestock and helping to take care of her younger siblings. She was the middle child of eleven children. After graduation, she worked in the office at the Carnation Company in Hillsboro doing office work. Arlene loved working with numbers, sewing, quilting and picking apples at the family cabin in Champion Valley.
She married Robert L. Erie of Hillsboro on May 22, 1948. They relocated to Sullivan, WI to continue working for the Carnation Company.
Arlene was the last surviving of her family, predeceased by her parents and siblings: Dorothy Rott, Helen Grant, Margaret Kosa, Jenny Helwig, Alois (Bub) Sosinsky, Patty Anderson, Elaine Reidle, Herbert (Tom) Sosinsky, Jim Sosinsky and Rosemary Sinkule. Her former husband, Robert Erie.
She is survived by her children: Tom (Mary) Erie and Carol (Jeff) Endl and her cherished grandchildren: Brady (Jadi) Endl, Stacy (Bill) Marklein and Mitchell Erie and two great-grandchildren: Ellis Endl and Harper Marklein with another little Marklein on the way in July, along with numerous other relatives.
Specials thanks to the staff at Drumlin Reserve and Agrace Hospice Care for their kindness and gentle care of Arlene during this difficult time. You have made her life more comfortable, and you are very special people to be able to do this. God bless you!
It is per Arlene’s wishes for no formal services and for a private burial to be held at Mount Vernon cemetery at a later date.
