Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Huebel passed away on Monday, May 26th, at the age of 67. Born on March 13th, 1958, in Wonewoc, Wisconsin, Betsy went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison receiving a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Masters degree in Public Health Administration. She spent a majority of her life in Madison, with the exception of a couple of years in San Francisco in the late 1980s and more recently, winter seasons in Naples, Florida.

Betsy was known for a number of things - a loving mother and wife, Grateful Dead follower, cleaning enthusiast (she liked things tidy) and her passion for the outdoors.  She was happiest when hiking in the mountains, watching sunsets, tending to her flowers and garden, spending time and traveling with family and friends or giving back to the communities she cared deeply about.

Over her lifetime, Betsy dedicated countless hours to organizations working to improve the lives of children and families, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and basic needs.  She served on the Board and presided as President across numerous organizations including the Madison Public Schools Foundation, The YMCA of Dane County, the South Madison Health and Family Center - Harambee and Friends of Meriter.  In 2021, she received the Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Madison Chapter.

Betsy is survived by her husband, David Silverberg, daughter, Hailey Riggle, son, Sam Silverberg and sisters, Laurie Wurster and Julie Hebel.  She also leaves behind a large extended family of loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews from the Huebel, Riggle, and Silverberg families. She was preceded in death by her Father, William Huebel, Mother, Beverly Huebel and first husband, Mark Riggle.

Her family would like to thank UW Health and Agrace Hospice for their tremendous level of care over the past year.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Madison Public Schools Foundation in her honor.

Betsy will be missed but never forgotten.
