REEDSBURG - Fred J. Vodak, age 71, of Reedsburg, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 6, 1950, in Hillsboro, WI, the son of Fred E. and Josephine M. (Bolint) Vodak.

On May 15, 1971, Fred was united in marriage to Bonnie M. Nofsinger. This marriage was blessed with three children. Fred had many occupations, notably: milk truck driver, farmer, foundry worker, fuel hauler, over-the-road trucker, and hardware store worker; but his favorite positions were husband, father, and papa.

With his wife, Bonnie, Fred helped plant the Reedsburg Christian Church in the early 1980s. Later, Fred was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Reedsburg. He enjoyed the faith and fellowship shared with his church family. He had a true servant’s heart; offering himself for disaster relief programs, from the floods in Reedsburg to hurricane assistance in Texas and went on a mission trip to a children’s home in Mexico. Fred was always willing to help in any way he could. Above all, Fred had a huge love and appreciation for his family. They were his world and he enjoyed every moment they spent together.

Woodworking was a favorite hobby. Fred created many bowls, lamps, jewelry boxes and other treasures for his family. He was also an avid gardener.

He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Wade Vodak; his parents; and mother-in-law, Beverly Nofsinger.

Fred is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie; children, Jarod (Jen) Vodak of Reedsburg, and Jolene (Brian) Soerfass of Baraboo; grandchildren, Jenesa and Nick Vodak, Hannah, Cody, J.J., Dylan and Libby Soerfass; sister, Sharon (Larry) Simonson of Lincoln, IL; nephew, Michael Simonson of IL, and niece, Mary (Russ) Newby of MO; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Fred Vodak will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Trinity Baptist Church, Reedsburg, with Pastor Michael Lopp officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
