Irene K. Holman, age 86 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Milestone Senior Living in Hillsboro.
She was born on September 12, 1939 in Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin LeRoy and Effie (Franks) Kessler. Irene was united in marriage to Loren D. Holman on May 14, 1957 in Independence, Iowa.
They farmed in Iowa and moved to the Reedsburg, Wisconsin area in 1973 and then to a farm near Wonewoc in 1976, where they continued farming. She later also worked at Lands End. Loren preceded her in death on April 6, 2010.
Irene always had extra children around and she treated them as her own, especially Brad Rott, Dan Hess and Angel Ziegler. She enjoyed gardening and her house plants and had a vast Owl collection.
Survivors include her children, Kevin (Marie) Holman, Denise Muchow, Rachelle (Eric) Degner, Tom (Crystal) Holman and Julie Callaway (Bobby) Spratt; twelve Grandchildren; sixteen Great Grandchildren and sister, Randi Grant.
In addition to her husband, Loren; she was preceded in death by her Parents; two sons-in-law, Craig Callaway and Norbert Muchow and grandchildren, Alex Callaway and Eliana Callaway.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Pastor Kevin Cortez officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
