HILLSBORO - Isla J. Kuester, age 101 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Milestone Senior Living in Hillsboro.

She was born on March 13, 1921 to George and Clara (Leary) Nelson in Almond, Wisconsin.

Isla was united in marriage to Alfred Kuester on January 9, 1945 in Waukesha.

They lived at Loyal and for many years in Hillsboro. After working hard as a mother and wife, she later worked for Aunt Nellies Canning Factory and the Garment Factory in Hillsboro. Alfred preceded her in death on September 2, 1994.

Isla loved playing cards, polka dancing and especially liked going to the casinos.

Survivors include her children, Karen O’Connor, Sherry Fulwiler, Mary Rohleder, Larry Davidson, Michael (Sandra) Kuester, Dennis Kuester and Thomas (JoAnn) Kuester; 21 Grandchildren; 37 Great Grandchildren; 13 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous family members and friends.

In addition to her husband, Alfred; she was preceded in death by her Parents; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert O’Connor, Jack Fulwiler, Tom Rohleder, Karen Davidson and Rita Kuester; 2 grandsons, Todd Kuester and Pat O’Connor and a sister, Eloise Youngs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father Don Bauer officiating. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the Church on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
