ELROY - LaRamie D. Dank, Elroy, age 87, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, with his family at his side. He was born in Hillsboro on November 7, 1934 to the late Frank J. and Mildred S. (nee Havel) Dank. Following his graduation from Hillsboro High School, LaRamie served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959, where he received awards for high achievement in marksmanship.

One of his greatest loves was dancing and he met his future wife, Patsy C. Burch, in 1957 at Dreamland. They married at First Congregational Church on October 11, 1958. Together, they farmed and hauled livestock and later, transported people as needed. LaRamie enjoyed camping at Blue Top Resort in Fremont, WI where he made lifelong friends and fished for white bass and catfish. He also enjoyed hunting for deer, ginseng, and morels! LaRamie was a member of the Hillsboro Sportsmen Club. His homemade wine was the best!

LaRamie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patsy; children: Gary Walter Dank (special friend Kerry Vian) of Kendall; Karla Jean Dank of LaCrosse; and Thomas LaRamie (Kelli) Dank of Elroy; grandchildren: Marie Dank, Nicole (Jeff) Shirley, Christine (Damon) Widner, Ashley Dank, Joshua (Lauren) Dank, Krista (Andrew) Hornick, and John Dank; great grandchildren: Ryan, Logan and Olivia Biermeier, Lillian and Eliana Shirley, Abigail Biermeier, Eliza, Nora and Benjamin Dank, Vanessa Hornick; sister, Gloria Benish; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Judy (Bruce) Stedman, Bruce (Janet) Burch, and Sandra (Jim) Joseph. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, LaRamie was preceded in death by his siblings: Dale Dank and Mildred (Don) Smith; father and mother-in-law, Walter and Cleota Burch; and brothers-in-law: Robert Benish, Sr. and Richard (Mary) Burch.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 at FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH (602 High Avenue, Hillsboro) beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Aaron Thompson officiating. Committal Mount Tabor Cemetery where Military Honors, conducted by the Hillsboro American Legion Post 223, will be held.
