Laura A. Novy, age 64, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 29, 1960, Laura was the daughter of Louis and Freda (Christian) Nevsimal. She grew up in the Mount Tabor area and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1978. Laura furthered her education at WWTC in La Crosse, where she earned a degree in dental hygiene.
Laura was married to Matthew Novy, with whom she had three children; they later divorced. For the past 27 years, she shared her life with her partner, Dean Urban, with whom she had two children. Together, they resided on a farm in rural Hillsboro.
Professionally, Laura dedicated several years to her role as a dental hygienist at the Wolfenden Dental Office in Hillsboro before transitioning to a long-term position as the head bookkeeper at Farmers State Bank in Hillsboro.
Family was the cornerstone of Laura's life. She cherished her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories through family vacations and joyful rides in the Kubota around the farm. Laura had a passion for gardening, cooking, canning, and sewing, along with various arts and crafts, which she loved sharing with her loved ones. She also enjoyed watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers.
Laura is survived by her partner, Dean Urban; her children, Sara (Aaron) White, Vanessa (Nathan) Stowell, Mark Novy, Jacob Urban, Savannah Urban, Shannon Hubele, and Ethan (Amanda) Urban; her beloved grandchildren, Blake, Sydney, Levi, Lathan, Aspen, Van, Suri, Martin, Ezra, Amelia, and Arthur; and her siblings, Judy (Darrell) Stanek, Steven (Marla) Nevsimal, Kathy (Tom) Connors, Karen (Gary) Friedl, Ron Nevsimal, and Theresa Oliver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Thomas, and her sister, Louise Nevsimal.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Burr Wesleyan Church, rural Hillsboro, followed by a memorial funeral service at 4 p.m.
