Mauston - Stanley Jerome Garfoot of Mauston, Wisconsin passed away on April 13, 2023 at Gundersen Medical Center in LaCrosse Wisconsin after a long illness. Stan was born to Jerome and Constance (Docken) Garfoot on October 22, 1949.

He grew up in Cross Plains, Wisconsin and attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic School where he was active as an altar boy. The family then moved to Madison where he attended East High School until they moved to Elroy. He graduated from Royall High School in 1967.

After graduation Stan enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, Vietnam and the Philippine Islands. He was a member of the 1st Mobile Communications for the radio towers. While in the Philippines he met and married Clarita Sheldon. To this union three children were born, Anna Lisa, Timothy Stanley and Elizabeth Marie. They started their life together in Adams County and then moved to Wonewoc. Stanley and Clarita later divorced and he moved to Mauston. He was a quiet man who worked very hard at any job he had. He retired from Kwik Trip.

Stanley is survived by his three children Lisa (Josh) Roehling, Wonewoc; Tim (Jessie Thiede) Mauston; and Beth (Mike) Waser, Wonewoc. Eight grandchildren Joseph, Ana, Danny and Thomas Roehling, Charlotte Garfoot, Logan and Lexus Mortimer, and Lucas Waser. Two brothers Scott (Susie) Garfoot, Seneca; Spencer Garfoot, Hillsboro; and six sisters Sharon (Jim) Ennis, LaCrosse; Sandra Rogers, Wonewoc; Susan Summerfield, LaCrosse; Sally Thompson, Wonewoc; Sarah (Brad) Nelson, LaCrosse; and Shelly Garfoot, Hillsboro. In addition to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father (Constance and Jerome), brother-in-law Phillip Rogers; maternal grandparents, Helen and Nels Docken; and paternal grandparents George and Elizabeth Garfoot. There will be memorial and military service at a later date.
