Susan T. Eliason unexpectedly passed away in her home in Hillsboro, Wisconsin on September 18, 2022 at the age of 69. Susie was born to Leland and Iola Eliason of Glenwood, Minnesota on April 2, 1953. She was a graduate of the Minnewaska High School class of 1971 in Glenwood, she then went on to further her education at Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, Minnesota and graduated with a Commercial Arts degree. She later moved to Santa Barbara, California before eventually settling in Canon City, Colorado. She worked at The Daily Record while again going to school at Colorado Springs Technical College. Her mother, Iola, later moved to Canon City with her. Susie continued to work at The Daily Record until 2001 when lola’s health started detiorating and she was in need of full-time care. She then dedicated her life to caring for her mother until she passed away in 2011. After her mother’s passing, Susie moved to Hillsboro, Wisconsin to be closer to her sister Lola and brother-in-law Rocky Johnson. She enjoyed volunteering at the Hillsboro Public Library and working at County Market until a diagnosis of uterine, colon and breast cancer caused her to give up her jobs. She fought hard for a long few years before eventually beating all three.

Susie had an incredible green thumb and seemed to be able to make any plant flourish in her care. Along with an abundance of flowers, she always attracted birds from all over. She loved hummingbirds and they seemed to always follow her wherever she went, they obviously knew a good soul when they saw one.Susie had such a kind heart and will be forever missed by thoses who had the honor of knowing her.

Susie is survived by her sister Lola (Rocky) Johnson, brother Leland (Elizabeth) Eliason, niece Shana Johnson, nephews Nick Johnson, Matt Eliason, and Mike Eliason, great nieces Sydney Johnson and Maddison Eliason, great nephews Wyatt Eliason and Claye Eliason and many special cousins whom she held close to her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leland and Iola Eliason and both her maternal grandparents Herman and Anna Nelson and paternal grandparents Halvor and Alma Eliason. Family plans to have a celebration oflife in her home town of Glenwood, Minnesota next summer (2023). We will honor her wishes by burring her with her parents at that time.
