Thomas G. Myers, age 82, of rural Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 in Hillsboro.
He was born on July 17, 1944 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the son of Donald and Elaine (Standiford) Myers. Tommy grew to adulthood on Burr Ridge and in 1962 was a member of the first graduating class of Brookwood High School. He then went to school for auto body.
On October 4, 1969, Thomas married Anna Lou Rynes. They shared much work and many memories on the family farm on Burr Ridge, where they were also blessed with two children, Stacy and Misti. They later divorced.
Tommy married Loreen (McCoy) Bloor on January 28, 1994 in La Crosse and they continued living on the family farm.
Tommy worked the farm, he also was a handyman and carpenter, along with some doing auto body work. For enjoyment he rode motorcycle, was an outdoorsman and hunted, and played softball. He served on the Rockton Cemetery Board and Town of Forest Board. Tommy also enjoyed the local history and served with the Cheyenne Settlers.
A favorite of Tommy’s was music. He could play a variety of instruments, and it became everything to him. This also intertwined with his lay ministry work. He preached at the Nursing Home in Hillsboro for 20 years and held funerals for close friends. He was a supporter of many other pastors and attended several of their church services.
Survivors include his wife, Loreen; children, Stacy Myers (Debbie Rengert), Misti Myers (Jeff Hastings), David (Paula) Bloor and Adam (Vannessa) Bloor; grandchildren, Haley Myers (Zac Reams), Haley (Sawyer) Hynek, Rylee Hall (Kolin Muehlenkamp), Tisha Wood, Derek Myers, Ricky Myers (Amy Berg), Brianna Bloor, Vilo Bloor and Vienna Bloor; great grand children, Bentley Myers and Lainey Myers; brother-in-law, Leonard Lyle Cass and niece, Lisa (Steve) Rasch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Elaine; sister, Donalee Cass and nephew, Shawn Stedman.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Grace Community Church – 100 Monroe Street, Ontario, WI. Burial will be in the Forest – Burr Cemetery. A time of visitation will also be at the Grace Community Church in Ontario on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Thursday starting at 10 a.m.
