Vilma Jean Amberg, age 98 years, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Milestone Senior Living in Hillsboro.
She was born on April 11, 1927 at Ontario, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Williams) Stedman. Vilma graduated from the Ontario High School.
Vilma was united in marriage to John “Jack” Amberg on September 18, 1945. They lived on a farm in the Township of Hillsboro for many years, where they operated a milk hauling business. Jack preceded her in death on October 22, 2015.
Vilma enjoyed her rural home, where she hiked into the woods every day watching nature at its finest, including the many birds. She also raised a wonderful flower garden. Vilma appreciated her black coffee, along with never passing up a piece of cake any time of the day. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include her children, Matt (Deb) Amberg of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Paul (Joelle) Amberg of Hubertus, WI and Liz (Patrick) Valencia of Hancock, Michigan; grandchildren and step grandchildren, Jake (Becky), Amy, Daniel, James, Kenzie, Lexie and Isabel; great grandchildren, Jack and Tilly and nieces and nephews.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Hillsboro with Thomas Hotek officiating. A time of visitation will be at the Church on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m, preceding the service.
