Mark Thomas Lesko, age 75, of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He was born on July 16, 1948, in Peoria, Illinois to Andrew and Mary Esther (Skroch) Lesko. Mark was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served for 21 years. He was united in marriage to Marianne Hein on December 31, 2007, and had previously been married to Phyllis Nuss. Mark was extremely active in the American Legion, holding state and district positions.
He is survived by his wife, Marianne; his children, Andrew (Shannon) Lesko, Kathy (Henry) Phippen and Elizabeth (Rob) Rowe; his stepchildren, Peter (Michelle) Schmidt and Alex (Jaclyn) Schmidt; his grandchildren, Tapanga Lesko, Katelyn Lesko, Joseph Phippen, Mackenzie Phippen, Ryan Rowe and Evelyn Rowe; his step grandchildren, Ashley Phippen, Colin Neu, Kyle Powers, Riley Schmidt, Haleigh Schmidt, Lily Schmidt, Brielle Schmidt and Cooper Schmidt; and his siblings, Christopher (Rose) Lesko, Andrew (Dar) Lesko and Mary (Pat) Weyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall Post #115, 402 Franklin St, Elroy, WI 53929.
